Squint is a Naarm (Melbourne) based fashion brand by Scottish designer Ellie Vallely.
Founded in Edinburgh, Scotland by Ellie in 2016 after graduating from Brighton University, Squint strives to create concept based yet functional clothing. The brand focuses on play, naivety of shape, nostalgia and textile manipulation.
Ellie spent 6 months interning in Melbourne Australia at homegrown brand Dress Up and was shortlisted in the 2016 Creative Edinburgh Awards, both of which drove her to set up her own brand. In 2017 Squint won Online Newcomer at The Herald Fashion Awards and was selected as part of the Fashion Foundry’s 2017/18 Emerging Designers programme. In 2022 Squint was awarded the Frankie Good Stuff Awards for the Fashion category.
